I was diagnosed the with cervical cancer type of HPV a year ago. They had told me that I can still get the Gardasil shot to protect against the other types of HPV. I have gotten 2 out of the 3 shots so far. Now I have noticed three little flesh colored bumps on my boyfriends penis. I have been asking him to go to the doctor to get them checked but he will not go. He keeps saying he will make the appointment but then he wont because he is too embarrassed. I told him he needs to make the appointment because it not only effects his health but also mine too. First of all, If my bf has the genital warts strain of HPV, is it possible for me to contract it even though I have gotten the Gardasil vaccines? And what do you suggest I do about my boyfriend not going to the doctor?

Refuse to sleep with him until he does!  I know that sounds harsh, but he really needs to understand just how serious this is.

I'm not sure about the vaccines, but it's not a chance I'd be willing to take, especially if you have types 16 or 18.

I don't mean to sound frightening, by the way - I just found out recently that I have it, so you probably know a lot more about it than I do.  I just think he needs to put your health and his own before any embarrassment.

I totally agree with the Dannii. It is quite a serious matter and try to convince him to visit the Doctor. These type of diseases had been cured and so he must visit the Doctor.

It's quite possible that the bumps are indicative of a more serious STD, such as HPV , which can cause genital warts that are either raised or flat, white or flesh-colored, and usually don't itch or burn. Less common is MCV (molluscum contagiosum virus), which is related to the pox family of viruses and appears as clustered, whitish bumps with a central indentation.that's  why your boyfriend should go to the Doctor. And it is advasable.
