I have high risk HPV, and have decided that I need to be celibate the rest of my life, as it can be passed even with condom usage.  I cannot risk giving this to someone, or having them pass it on to other partners.

This is  a huge loss for me.  My sexuality is a very big part of who I am, and trust me, I was never one of the woman who said, " Oh, I prefer cuddling."  Not at all.

It is difficult to come to terms with this.    I did talk to a potential partner about it, very honestly, and he did not want to pursue a sexual relationship, although we are still good friends.  I cannot blame him.

Yup...I have been celibate for the past two and a half years.  Sex is important to me and I could never dream of keeping my partner in the dark (when I have a partner that is).  Any tips on when to tell someone you're dating you're HPV postive?

Have you discussed this with your drs?  I have read that 80% already have 1 or more strain of HPV ( I have been doing alot of reading since I had my biopsy done a week ago Cry)

My doctors have said to tell the person up front about my condition.  Although, from my research, men who contract high risk HPV very rarely get penile cancer, they are more likely to pass the virus on to a future partner.  And in my case, having to use latex free condoms means the passing of STDs is greater.  Most guys I meet simply don't want the trouble.

ClapClapClap I just found out also that I have HPV, and I have only been with one man and that is my husband, but he cheated before we got married and now I am paying for it, I go tomorrow for a Colposcopy and a biopsy as well, it has made me sick, but I don't know if I can ever have sex with him again and we have been married now for nearly 10 years, and this is how I found out he was with someone else is through my pap smear, that is sad!!CryCry
